WINERY TASTING ROOM AND EVENT SERVER
COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Founded in 1980, The Winery at Wolf Creek is a vineyard and winery in Copley Township, Ohio that strives to showcase its agricultural heritage in a relaxed country atmosphere. The winery maintains almost 12 acres of vineyard on 35 acres just 5 miles west of Akron Ohio.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an hourly Tasting Room & Event Server
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Winery at Wolf Creek is seeking part-time servers who can provide a high level of professional customer service in our Tasting Room and rental space. Candidates must be professional and courteous with a diverse customer base, have attention to detail, and deliver consistent, high-quality service for guests. Must be available evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create a memorable experience for all guests who enter the property through a high standard of customer service

Build relationships with guests to maximize sales

Creates opportunities to sell other event services and experiences offered on the property

Provide guests with the background information on our wines and the history of the winery

Assists guests with beverage selection demonstrating product knowledge of available beverages
-
Pour, prepare, and serve a variety of wine, beer, and spirits in a responsible, friendly, and professional manner

Ensures age requirements and monitors alcohol consumption

Perform opening and closing duties as assigned or directed included but not limited to:
-
Pre & post event cleaning: vacuuming, cleaning windows, restrooms, floors, and arranging, stacking, or moving tables and chairs, spot cleaning carpet or walls, wiping down tables and chairs, counters, bar area

Stocking bar and replenishing with appropriate beverages, glassware, garnishes, etc., and maintaining inventory

Handles a cash drawer accurately and proficiently ensuring appropriate charges are billed correctly for each event

Works cooperatively with co-workers, management, owners, and clients

Takes direction, coaching, and feedback from supervisors

Is a problem solver and handles situations appropriately as they arise

Maintains a positive and professional attitude in potential high stress/pressure situations
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be 21 years of age or older
-
Serving or bartending and wine-related experience helpful but not required
-
Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office)

Excellent oral communication & presentation skills

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Ability to manage priorities and workflow

Professional appearance and demeanor

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Excellent customer service skills

Reading, writing, basic math skills required

Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, and percentages

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Ability to lift, squat, and move 40 pounds multiple time during a shift

Ability to stand and be on your feet for your entire shift

Must be able to work evenings and weekends
